The Departed Souls Society is a volunteer-run organization of independently organized local chapters nestled within local dioceses.

Founded in Delaware by Teresa Pierce, as part of an action plan for the Given institute, the website was launched in 2025.

 

Dedicated to providing community cemetery clean-ups, prayers, meditations, and events to remember the most forgotten in our communities. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where people can come together to grieve and find comfort in their faith. We believe that by honoring the departed through prayer, we can help them find peace in the afterlife. We were founded in Delaware but hope to spread around the world with locally run chapters.

Although a devotion for the souls of the dead is of great consolation to people from all walks of life, and we hope the resources provided are of great use to all, the Departed Souls Society aligns itself fully underneath the authority and teaching of the Catholic Church and believes Catholic Doctrine and the Magisterium and teaching authority of the Catholic Church.
